1. Who we are

StrokePath is a private company registered in South Africa. The supplier of this service is the company named below. Our full physical address is available on request.

2. What StrokePath is, and what it is not

StrokePath is an educational and self-guided information service about recovery after a stroke. It provides general guidance, activities and reference material for stroke survivors and the people caring for them.

StrokePath does not:

• diagnose any condition
• prescribe treatment
• give advice tailored to one person's medical situation
• stand in for your doctor, therapist or rehabilitation team

Nothing in the service creates a practitioner and patient relationship between you and StrokePath or anyone who contributed to its content. Please read the Medical Disclaimer, which forms part of these terms.

3. Accounts

You need an account to use the service. You are responsible for keeping your sign-in details secure and for activity that happens under your account. Give accurate information when you register, and keep it up to date.

An account is for you and your household. Do not share your login outside it, and do not resell or redistribute the content.

4. Memberships and payment terms

• A free tier is available and requires no payment.
• Paid memberships are billed monthly in advance through recurring billing, and renew automatically until you cancel.
• All prices are quoted and charged in South African Rand (ZAR). StrokePath is not a VAT vendor, so no VAT is charged and the price you see is the price you pay.
• Your membership stays active for each period you have paid for.
• Some memberships are activated with a referral code supplied by a partner organisation. Where that is the case, the code is what qualifies you for that rate, and the rate may end if the partnership ends. We will tell you before that happens.

We may change our prices. Existing members will be told at least one full billing cycle before a change affects them, and you are free to cancel before it takes effect.

5. Delivery

Everything is delivered digitally, with no physical goods. Access is granted to your account as soon as payment is confirmed. The Delivery Policy sets out exactly what you receive, when, and what to do if access does not arrive.

6. Cancellation

You can cancel at any time, with no notice period and no cancellation fee. Cancelling stops all future billing. Your membership remains active until the end of the period you have already paid for, and then reverts to the free tier.

To cancel, email info@mystrokepath.com. Refunds are covered by the Refund and Cancellation Policy.

7. Content and intellectual property

The content in StrokePath, including text, activities, guides and artwork, belongs to StrokePath or is used with permission. Your membership gives you a personal, non-transferable right to use it for your own recovery or for someone you care for.

You may print or save material for that personal use. You may not republish it, sell it, or use it to run a service of your own without written permission.

8. Acceptable use

Use the service lawfully and as intended. Do not attempt to break, overload or gain unauthorised access to it, and do not use it in a way that puts anyone at risk. We may suspend an account that does, and will explain why.

9. Availability

We work to keep the service available, but we do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance, updates and events outside our control can interrupt it. Where an interruption is significant and within our control, contact us and we will deal with it fairly.

10. Limitation of liability

StrokePath is provided as general educational information. To the fullest extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for any loss, injury or damage arising from decisions taken on the basis of that information. Recovery after a stroke is individual, and guidance that suits one person may not suit another.

Nothing in these terms limits any right you have under the Consumer Protection Act or any other law that cannot lawfully be excluded.

Always consult a qualified healthcare professional before acting on anything you read here, and call for emergency help when something is wrong.

11. Payment security

Online payments are processed by Paystack, a secure third-party payment gateway. All payment pages are secured with SSL encryption, and no card details are stored on this website or by StrokePath. Your card details go to the payment gateway, never to us.

The merchant outlet country at the time of presenting payment options is South Africa. Transaction currency is South African Rand (ZAR).

12. Privacy

We handle personal information in line with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA). See the Privacy Policy for what we collect, why, and the rights you have.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The current version is always on this page, with the revision date at the top. Where a change materially affects you, we will tell you before it takes effect.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of South Africa, and the South African courts have jurisdiction over any dispute arising from them.
